🦆 Behind the Beak: What Makes My Ducks Different Than Store-Bought Rubber Ducks
Phil TullaiWhen most people think of ducks, they imagine the classic yellow rubber duck floating in a bathtub. Cute? Sure. But the ducks in my shop aren’t your average bath-time buddies — they’re customized, collectible creations made with care, creativity, and eco-conscious materials.
Let’s take a peek behind the beak and explore what really sets my ducks apart.
🎨 1. Every Duck Is Designed from Scratch
Each duck in my collection starts as an idea — inspired by pop culture, professions, animals, holidays, or requests from Jeep duckers like you. I use 3D design software like Blender and Meshmixer to sculpt and modify the models. Every pose, expression, and accessory is intentional.
Unlike factory rubber ducks, which are mass-produced from molds, my ducks are digital sculptures brought to life one print at a time.
🧵 2. Printed with Purpose — Not Poured into a Mold
Most store-bought ducks are made with rubber or vinyl, often produced in overseas factories using petroleum-based plastics. In contrast, my ducks are 3D printed using PLA plastic, a plant-based material derived from renewable resources like cornstarch.
PLA is:
- Compostable in industrial facilities
- Less toxic than other plastics
- Safer around kids and pets (though still not toys for babies!)
That means you’re not just buying something fun — you’re making a better environmental choice too.
🎯 3. Sized and Styled for Jeep Ducking and Gifting
At about 2.5 inches tall, my ducks are designed to fit perfectly on a Jeep dashboard, fender, or in someone’s hand. They’re not oversized, not squishy, and not meant for water — they’re statement pieces, conversation starters, and small gifts that leave a big impression.
And because they’re hard plastic, they don’t get gross or break down in the elements like soft rubber can.
🛠️ 4. Custom Ducks? Absolutely.
Want a duck that looks like your dog? Your best friend? A firefighter? A video game character (within legal limits 😅)? I’ve done it — and I’m always up for new challenges.
Custom ducks aren’t just possible — they’re one of the most exciting parts of what I do. And thanks to the speed of modern 3D printers, I can bring most ideas to life within a few days.
💛 5. A Duck With a Purpose
This isn’t just a hobby. It’s a community. Ducking has become a way for Jeep lovers to connect, smile, and surprise each other on the road — and I’m proud to be part of that.
Each duck I design is meant to add joy, express identity, and spark a little fun wherever it lands.
🛒 Ready to See the Difference?
Whether you’re into superheroes, sea creatures, spooky themes, or school spirit, there’s a duck waiting for you in my shop. And if you don’t see the one you want — just ask. I love turning new ideas into beaked reality.
